Last week Darren Young was named Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month for September after guiding the side to 5 wins out of 5 in all competitions.
The month started with a 2-0 win over newly-promoted side Montrose where first half goals from Ross Davidson and Jonny Court were enough to pick up our first win of the season.
That was followed up with a terrific 2-1 defeat of Championship side Partick Thistle in the Irn Bru Cup the following week. Thistle had led at half-time but goals from Scott Agnew and Rory Currie saw us progress into the next round.
Airdrieonians were next up and we picked up our first home league win of the season with a 2-1 victory. Despite going behind in unusual circumstances just after half-time, Liam Watt levelled the game immediately from the kick off before Rory Currie scored the winner with 2 minutes left on the clock.
East Fife returned home from the long-trip down to Stranraer with all 3 points when second-half goals from Craig Watson and Rory Currie helped seal a 2-0 victory.
The month was rounded off with another clean sheet and victory over Stenhousemuir at Bayview. Craig Watson headed us in front in the first half but we needed to wait until deep into injury time for the points to be secured when Rory Currie was on hand to fire home the rebound after Docherty’s penalty had been saved.
September Record: Games Played: 5 Games Won: 5 Goals Scored: 10 Goals Conceded: 2 Clean Sheets: 3
