Gordon Davidson and his daughter were presented with their signed footballs by our Commercial Director, Ken Henderson, after the match on Saturday, 10th March against Airdrie. Gordon is a sponsor of our main draw and as a result, was entitled to matchball and hospitality. He also had further matchball hospitality on the day for his 54th Birthday, thus marking a successful day all round and of course, another signed football.
The father of Richard Bronzite, Louis, pictured above celebrated his 70th Birthday recently. Louis lives in the East End of London and has never seen East Fife play but has been a fan of the Club since his schooldays. In those days, it was common for English school boys to choose a Scottish team to support as well as the local English Team. He has followed The Fife from those days and looked out for the results. Of course, Saturday's result against Airdrie made his day! Above , you can see him with his letter of thanks from the Directors of the Club and he is now proudly sporting his East Fife Supporter's Club Badge. The next thing of course is for his family to send him to the Costa del Fife to see for himself, The Mighty Fife.
East Fife welcome Airdrieonians tomorrow afternoon to the Locality Hub Bayview Stadium following last Saturday’s blank fixture card in the Ladbrokes Division One.
Bayview boss Darren Young will be looking to build on his side’s 2-0 win last time out against Albion Rovers a fortnight ago but will be only too aware of the potential threat posed by the Coatbridge men’s local rivals. Airdrie’s fortunes have seen an upturn since their last visit to Methil, putting together some impressive performances to steer clear of the lower reaches of the table. Diamonds boss Stevie Findlay took the opportunity to bring in some new faces during the January transfer window, including former Fifers Ross Brown and Willie Muir.
The injury situation at Bayview saw some improvement ahead of the visit of the Wee Rovers, with Kyle Wilkie and Mark Lamont able to take their place on the substitutes’ bench. Midfielder Mark Docherty remains the only long term absentee, while Craig Thomson should not be too far away from a return to the squad and goalkeeper Ryan Goodfellow hopefully available for selection.
East Fife have had the better of the previous encounters this season, winning 1-0 at the Excelsior Stadium in September and 6-1 at Bayview in November. The last meeting on a bitterly cold Lanarkshire January afternoon ended goalless in a game of few chances.
Supporters of both clubs are reminded that they are welcome to enjoy refreshments at the stadium bars before and after the game.
Congratulations to Jonathan Page and his wife Gillian on the birth of their daughter Florence Rose. Everyone at East Fife is delighted for them!
