The injury Sam suffered early on in the 2nd leg of our playoff semi-final match against Clyde has been scanned and assessed by a specialist. Unfortunately, it has now been confirmed that Sam has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) which will require surgery to fix, and he is scheduled to undergo an operation in a few weeks.
Regrettably, this injury means Sam will be unable to play football or work in his day job as a coach for a significant period of time.
Our popular fan podcast, Glory Days of Gold, have kindly agreed to start a GoFundMe page to provide a little help with both the cost of the procedure and Sam’s loss of income as a result of this injury.
The club and our Physio Jeb Spink will continue to support Sam through his rehabilitation and look forward to seeing him back playing football in the future.
For anyone wishing to contribute to the GoFundMe page can do so here.
Here is last week's lucky Goldmine Jackpot Winner John Bease being congratulated by our Goldmine ticket collector David Graham.

We’re delighted to welcome Nathan Austin back to the club on a 2-year deal from Kelty Hearts.
Fash originally joined the club in summer of 2013 from Leven United and went on to score 43 goals in 107 appearances over 3 seasons. He was voted PFA League 2 Player of the Year during our 2015/16 Championship winning season before spending a year and a half in the Championship with Falkirk, then moving on to Inverness before joining Kelty Hearts in May 2019.
A brief loan spell back at Bayview during the covid interrupted 2020/21 season saw him take his East Fife tally to 44 goals in 100 appearances before returning to Kelty to help them win back-to-back promotions in 2020/21 & 2021/22, finishing the season as top goal scorer in League 2 last season and being named in the team of the season.
Manager Greig McDonald: “We’re delighted to bring Fash back to the club. He’s a quality striker who will bring experience and a track record of scoring goals. I’m looking forward to working with him, he’s a local lad who knows the club well and I’m sure he will complement our existing attacking players.”
Welcome home Fash!
