East Fife head north of the River Tay tomorrow afternoon to take on a Forfar Athletic side involved in a keen fight to avoid the bottom two places in the table.
Having won three games on the spin, manager Darren Young was left frustrated by the postponement of Sunday’s derby encounter with Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park, but will be hoping that his charges can pick up where they left off after the excellent victory over Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium the previous midweek. Kevin Smith and Chris Duggan were the men on target, with the latter’s strike, a beautiful dipping effort from just outside the box, a contender for goal of the season.
Jim Weir’s men have notched up some impressive results themselves recently, notably their 2-1 win against promotion hopefuls Raith Rovers at Station Park, but were unable to repeat their heroics against Ayr United last Saturday, going down 2-0 to the league leaders at Station Park. Their cause was not helped by the dismissal of defender Andy Munro, who now faces a two match suspension beginning with tomorrow’s game.
The Fifers will once again be without the services of midfielder Mark Docherty, who underwent knee surgery last week.
The Loons have had the better of the meetings between the sides this season, recording victories at Station Park in November and Bayview Stadium in January. East Fife did however manage to get the better of Forfar in their first encounter of the campaign back in September.
On Saturday, 2nd June 2018, a celebration dinner will be held in Buckhaven Community Centre, Kinnear St, Buckhaven.

How long have you been an East Fife supporter?
I’ve been an East Fife supporter for over 60 years. My first game was a Scottish League Cup match against Aberdeen in 1956. The Fife won 2-1.
Most memorable moment following East Fife?
My most memorable moment was the game against Aberdeen in the Scottish Communities League Cup in 2011. After extra time the score was 3 each and East Fife went on to win 4-3 on penalties with Fife ‘keeper Mark Ridgers saving 3 penalties!!!
Least favourite moment following East Fife?
Being hammered 9-1 by Dundee in a Scottish Cup tie in season 1965/66.

Best East Fife goal you’ve seen?
I can’t remember the opposition but the goal still sticks in my mind. Andy Waddell took a corner kick and Ian Stewart hit the ball mid-air. I’m sure the Fife had to change the net the following week because of the damage done to it!!
Favourite goal celebration?
Saturday 10th May 2003. East Fife needed to beat Queen’s Park to gain promotion and a last-minute winner from Kenny Deuchar put the Fife faithful into seventh heaven.
